The program states its goal is to teach children the necessary skills to achieve their highest goals and to provide a positive influence in their life’s journey through kindness, integrity, devotion and success, summarized in the phrase “Teaching KIDS... Kindness, Integrity, Devotion, and Success.” The program notes that it takes pride in the Kid Excel After-School Program as an active after-school option in the Paris area that teaches gymnastics, ninja, and more, and that families may select after-school pick up and/or full days when children are off school. The program also states that if a child attends after-school, staff pick up on early release days and keep them until their normal release time at 6pm, and that birthday party packages include group games, trampoline fun, a large foam pit, an inflatable obstacle course, and more.
Bill and Lisa Gandy both have achieved a Master of Sport coaching level with USA Gymnastics University, which is described as the highest level a coach can achieve, and both are Physical Therapists. Bill received his coaching degree from Sam Houston State University and a Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in 1987, and when he learned to coach gymnastics at Sam Houston State, his instructor was Bela Karolyi. Lisa is a former collegiate gymnast and national floor exercise champion who earned her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in 1987 and was the first gymnast inducted into the TWU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1995; she serves as Co-Chair of the USA Gymnastics Trampoline & Tumbling Elite Education Committee. Their athletes have earned 24 national champions, 4 World Medals, and 6 International Titles, and they first coached their daughter Sarah to a classification as an official World Class Gymnast by the Federation of International Gymnastics, during which she won 6 national titles, 3 international titles, and two World bronze medals (one in the World Age Group Competition and one as a member of the Sr. Elite National Team at the World Championships in St. Petersburg, Russia). Since then, they have progressed six more athletes to the elite level in nine events and have been part of the national coaching staff for Team USA at the Canada Cup, CanAm Cup, Pan American Championships, and two World Age Group Competitions. The program notes that it proudly serves Lamar and surrounding counties and offers a variety of choices of classes and activities for young adults and kids, with discounts for each additional class a child signs up for.
