Plaza Sports Center Youth Soccer Programs and Camps include soccer training, games, scrimmages, and recreational activities. Soccer camp sessions take place on covered fields with artificial turf, and snacks are included in the soccer summer camp. The programs are open to players of all skill levels.
• Ages: 4–16 years old
• Schedule: Soccer summer camp runs Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 1 PM, with camps available starting in June every summer and lasting all summer.
Coaches in these programs are qualified to give students training in movement education, individual technique, tactical movements, and mental aspects. Plaza Sports Center offers several field options, including two 7-on-7 covered fields, two 7-on-7 uncovered synthetic turf fields, a 5-on-5 turf field, and a full-size grass field, along with a pro shop for soccer gear, clean public restrooms, and comfortable seating areas for spectators. The complex includes an onsite Mexican restaurant and sports bar called Fuera de Lugar Restaurant and follows a family environment policy where violent play and negative vocabulary are prohibited.
The programs are part of the PSC Toros Training Center and PSC Bulls Training Center, which focus on training high-level players and good men and women. Plaza Sports Center operates more than 40 leagues per week, with online schedules and results updated on a daily basis, and offers programs and leagues for every age and skill level, including what it describes as one of the best Soccer Academy programs in the region and the Toros Soccer Academy as the premier children soccer training academy in the Rio Grande Valley. The organization identifies itself as the premier soccer complex in the Rio Grande Valley and the largest provider of youth and adult competitive and recreational leagues in the region.
The mission of Plaza Sports Center is to provide the RGV soccer community with a sports education of the highest level by focusing on the training of players, and through these soccer programs with the PSC Toros Training Center, to build upon philosophies of life and produce good men and women, students with university scholarships, respect for the rules, follow-up of a life project, pride in belonging to the institution, and commitment to helping their community.
