About
Songahm Martial Arts Academy offers martial arts training that includes Taekwondo, MMA, weight lifting, wrestling, and Healing Movement Therapy. The program includes the Tiny Tigers program, Martial Arts Kids and adult classes, a Leadership program, a Legacy program, after-school programs, weekly summer camps, academic tutoring, ATA camps, tournaments, and the East Texas Camp at Camp Shiloh, which features a cookout and smores. Parents may train for free with their children, and personalized one-on-one and group training is available in-person and remotely.
• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: Class and training options are available Monday through Friday in the afternoons and evenings, with additional training and appointment blocks offered every day from 8:00am–2:00pm and 4:00pm–5:30pm.
• Price: SMA Enrollment Fee $85 New Members; Summer Camp Enrollment Fee $165 New Members; Remote Instruction Enrollment Fee $65 New Members.
Songahm Martial Arts Academy is based upon Christian principles and uses a life skills and leadership curriculum. The academy offers after-school programs, weekly summer camps, and academic tutoring and is an active part of the communities it serves. Texas locations feature Healing Movement Therapy owned by a certified occupational therapist, a fully equipped weight room for strength and conditioning, and a 24 foot event series octagon for MMA training. The Pittsburg location is home to the Pittsburg Lady Pirates wrestling team.
The leadership team includes Sr. Master Instructor Dr. Dometrius D. Hill Ed.D., founder of Songahm Martial Arts Academy and ATA Sr. Master Instructor; Mr. Tim Raymond, Lead Instructor at SMA Pittsburg; and Ryan Fisher, Lead Instructor at SMA Tyler. All instructors are ATA Certified Instructors with a minimum of 300 instructional training hours, and Healing Movement Therapy is owned by a certified occupational therapist.
Songahm Martial Arts Academy is proudly powered by the ATA, is a TDLR-licensed amateur MMA promotion company, and provides access to accredited collegiate degrees and certification programs through Lee College. Information is provided about ATA World Championship participation in Phoenix, Arizona. The academy offers multiple member discounts, and two free weeks may be available for qualifying new members.
Summer Camp Enrollment includes a T-shirt and summer swag, enrollment in the SMA message system, access to an online learning portal, and outdoor activities. Remote Instruction Enrollment includes a free T-shirt and swags, is free of all message treatments, and includes access to club facilities and outdoor activities. East Texas Camp at Camp Shiloh is open to all ATA martial arts family members, including non-training parents, with meals provided by camp staff, a small cookout and smores on Friday night, and a vegan meal choice available upon request.
