About
Calhoun County YMCA Summer Camps and Mini Camps include activities such as arts and crafts, exploring the outdoors, learning different sports, swimming, and field trips. Campers can also join mini camps in beginner cooking, junior art, advanced cooking, tech camp, basketball, soccer, and volleyball. Campers are grouped by age and take part in new weekly themes that include field trips, and families can sign up for specific weeks or for the full summer.
• Ages: 4–14 years old
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:45am–6:00pm, from May 26–August 7, 2026
• Price: Field trips are optional and at an additional fee. Please contact a YMCA Representative for Program Member rates.
Summer Camp is offered in both Port Lavaca and Palacios. Mini Camps are held at the Bauer Exhibit Building, and Tech Camps are held at the YMCA. The program accepts CCS, and financial assistance is available and covers membership and all Y programs.
The YMCA of the Golden Crescent has been active in the Crossroads area since 1902. Its stated mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. All Annual Campaign funds remain in the local community and are used to give children and families a chance to get involved in YMCA programs.
