Future Explorers Academy states that its mission is to provide interactive and exciting events to children, called explorers, and their families, and to use an innovative curriculum. Full-time students are provided with a healthy breakfast, lunch, and up to three snacks daily, and before/after school students receive breakfast and snacks. All explorers are provided with nap cots with sheets and a blanket that are laundered by staff, and they do not sleep on nap mats that lay directly on the floor, so parents do not need to provide nap mats.
In the infant and toddler programs, staff begin teaching ASL to assist children in communicating their needs. From 3 years of age through the Kinder Readiness classroom, explorers wear uniforms that are purchased through the program’s application and delivered to the school, with uniform colors changing periodically throughout the year. My Orbit Store provides uniforms and additional items.
Future Explorers Academy offers a part-time program only once a child reaches 3 years of age, and parents can choose three days of the week for attendance from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm. Each classroom from 3 years to Kinder Readiness has only two part-time slots. The program states that it believes it is important to maintain lower teacher-student ratios to avoid overwhelming teachers and to provide individualized care.
Future Explorers Academy will have two large playgrounds and gardens, including a monarch butterfly garden, where children can observe nature. The program will have a chef preparing healthy meals and snack options, including breakfast, lunch, and up to three snacks per day. All explorers are provided with nap cots with sheets and a blanket that are laundered by staff.
Future Explorers Academy will have secure live streaming cameras for parents and is partnered with PB&JTV for this service. A Parents App provides access to children’s daily activities, cameras, and interaction with teachers. Future Explorers Academy anticipated its building would be complete and ready in August 2023, and its hiring portal was planned to open by August 1, 2022.
All applicants for staff positions must have a minimum of 3 years of early childhood education experience, and a CDA is preferred. References are verified, and applicants must pass a fingerprint and background check. Future Explorers Academy offers school pick up and before and after school pick up from Meridiana Elementary, Bel Nafegar Sanchez Elementary, and Bennet Elementary School starting August 2024.
