About
Alamo Area Council Scouting Programs are connected to the Alamo Area Council Service Center and the Musselman Scout Shop. The programs are also connected with Bear Creek Scout Camp and related events such as the “Back to the Creek” music album inspired by Bear Creek Scout Camp, releasing November 19, 2025. Families involved with the council can also take part in council-based offerings like Scoutbook Plus Training scheduled for January 14, 2026 at the council office.
• Schedule: Alamo Area Council Service Center hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm, and the Musselman Scout Shop hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–6:00 pm, and Saturday, 10:00 am–2:00 pm.
In 1912, the Scouting movement officially took root in South Texas with the founding of what is now Scouting America’s Alamo Area Council. The Alamo Area Council adheres to the emergency closures of NEISD. Families can also learn about becoming a Founding Member of the 1912 Society through the council.
