San Antonio Academy was founded in 1886 by Dr. W.B. Seeley and is an all-boys Pre-K through 8th grade independent school. The school offers an exceptional education intentionally crafted for boys Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade and is accredited by ISAS and is a member of NAIS. San Antonio Academy has an A+ rating on Niche.com, a student-teacher ratio of 10:1, more than 300 students, and 9 sports offered. Its Four Foundational Pillars are Scholarship, Leadership, Integrity, and Brotherhood, and its motto is, “Be honest. Be kind. Be the best you can be.”
The Semmes Foundation Head of School is Paul M. Quick, the Registrar is Peggy Klein, Admissions Inquiries are handled by Gary Marvin, Web/Media Inquiries by Amanda Arnold, and Development and Alumni Relations by Jennifer Colglazier. Families have shared that their children loved their classes, that this was their third year and they plan to return, and that their kids were happy at pickup every day. Parents have also noted that class sizes seem smaller, that the experience from sign-up through drop-off and pick-up was easy, and that counselors and staff were friendly and provided a safe and fun environment, with several families stating they plan to sign up again and have recommended the camps to friends.
