Guiding Hands Christian Academy & Childcare offers hands-on learning for children using the Conscious Discipline and Frog Street Curriculums. Children take part in field trips twice a week during summer camp, and Schoolers receive homework help in the before and after school program. Schoolers also have time to relax and play with friends after their day at district schools.

Ms. Kathy opened Guiding Hands Christian Academy in Sanger in December of 2014 and is the owner of the program. She is a member of the Association of Early Learning Leaders, the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and Schools of Excellence, and she has served as an Ambassador for the Association of Early Learning Leaders since 2020. She has been featured in the book “Happiness Guide for Early Childhood Educators” by Brian Duprey and Kris Murray and has spoken on several podcasts.
The program’s primary stated purpose is to provide an environment where God’s love can be shown to each person who walks through the door. The program uses an interactive curriculum for all ages and focuses on teaching children how to deal with very large emotions and self-regulation. Safety and security are described as being of utmost importance for infants, and each infant’s individual schedule is followed. The toddler program is described as encouraging exploration and security, and preschoolers learn social and emotional skills as well as math and literacy using the Frog Street Curriculum. The program lists its core values as CONNECTION, LEARNING, COMPASSION, FUN, and INTEGRITY, and the entire team is participating in a year-long course called The Conscious Classroom.
