Southlake Tennis Center Junior Tennis Programs include junior tennis programs, junior match play, lessons, classes, drills, leagues, tournaments, and organized tournament play. The program also offers court rental and court reservations for open play.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Open 7 days a week, with hours Monday–Thursday 8:00 AM–9:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM–6:00 PM, and Saturday–Sunday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM; hours may change for holidays or special events, weather permitting
• Price: Outdoor court fees are $4 for Southlake residents and $5 for non-residents; indoor courts include an additional $30 fee plus regular court fees
Southlake Tennis Center was founded in 1999 and has offered year-round tennis programs since opening. The facility is described as the largest public tennis facility in Northeast Tarrant County, with 17 outdoor tennis courts, 17 lighted outdoor hard courts, and 2 indoor climate-controlled courts, along with a full-service pro shop and free membership, with public courts open for a minimal fee. Players can reserve outdoor and indoor courts for open play and are asked to check in at the front desk before court time, programs, leagues, lessons, or events, and to have the names of all players ready when reserving courts. Proper tennis shoes are recommended for safe movement and court protection.
Junior tennis programs are led by certified tennis professionals and experienced coaches with certifications in junior and adult instruction. The center’s mission statement is: “Our mission is simple: help players get better.” Southlake Tennis Center is a city-owned facility that is part of City of Southlake Parks & Recreation and is described as a community hub where players find fun, fitness, friendship, and opportunities to keep getting better.
The facility has received recognition including USTA Premier Facility, Section Industry of the Year, USTA National Facility of the Year, PTR Facility of the Year, Public Facility of the Year, and Outstanding Facility, and is described as a multiple award-winning public tennis facility and one of the most recognized public tennis centers in the country, with local, state, and national recognition for excellence in public tennis facilities, programming, instruction, player experience, and player development. One parent review states, “This tennis center is wonderful. Signing my son up for classes and getting started was very easy. His level one coach was calm, encouraging, and understanding of my neurodivergent son. I highly recommend for first time players.” Another review notes, “Very nice facility. They have 18 tennis courts!” and a third says, “Nick is amazing very knowledgeable! And fantastic facilities!”
