About
Kiddie Academy Educational Child Care offers hands-on activities, field trips, and themed events, including through its summer camp program. Technology is used as a supportive learning tool for activities in areas such as science, literacy, and math content, and care and curriculum are combined through the proprietary Life Essentials curriculum.
• Ages: 0–12 years old
• Price: Tuition at Kiddie Academy is affected by your child’s age, programs, days and hours your child attends, and location.
Kiddie Academy Educational Child Care was founded in 1981, and the Miller family continues to own and operate it. The program’s Life Essentials curriculum is proprietary and focuses on six key outcomes. Education experts with a deep understanding of childhood development and psychology continuously enhance Life Essentials. All educators must meet or exceed state requirements for child care providers, including background clearance, education qualifications, and ongoing professional development. Each Kiddie Academy has secure entries, authorized pick-up procedures, cleaning protocols, and background checks for all staff, and follows Health Essentials guidelines for health precautions and cleanliness. Every Kiddie Academy Educational Child Care features secure, restricted entries, and employees are trained on health and safety protocols.
The stated mission is to prepare children for life through early childhood education, community commitment, and the Life Essentials curriculum, with an emphasis on education and encouragement both in and out of the classroom. The program describes itself as a community where lifelong friendships and lasting memories are formed and notes a strong commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, including donations of $100,000 to Johns Hopkins Children’s Center and an annual toy drive to support Harford County families. The program states that it sets high standards, focuses on benchmarking measures of excellence, and proactively secures accreditation, and that its approach is to capture the momentum of curiosity and involve parents closely.
Parent feedback includes comments such as, “I feel like my child is cared for and has a good routine with a variety of activities” from Renee C., and “I love the detailed daily reports and the multiple pictures each day” from Nicholas W. Another parent, Kathleen D., notes that “all of the teachers are kind and communicative and want what is best for our baby.”
