About

Mentoring Alliance offers fun-filled summer camps with action-packed experiences and after-school programs where leaders invest in one-on-one relationships with students. Through Mentor Connect, the program provides relationships with trusted mentors who follow Jesus, and campers grow academically while also sparking their growing faith. The ministry is Christ-centered, intentionally multiethnic, and states that Jesus is at the center of everything it does.

Mentoring Alliance states that servant-hearted leaders, volunteers, and mentors help kids succeed academically, spiritually, and emotionally. The organization reports that it is serving more than 20 schools, with 25 schools served and 2,148 kids served. It reports that 8 out of 10 students finish half or more of their daily homework in the after-school program, and that 9 out of 10 mentees set future goals because of their mentor. The program reports that 6,000 gospel conversations take place through its summer camps and that $2.8 million in scholarships have been awarded for financial assistance for families. Office hours for listed offices are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and part-time and full-time positions are available.

Mentoring Alliance states that it partners with local schools in the Greater Tyler, Greater Waco, and Greater Abilene communities to offer after-school and summer camp programs close by, and that it is currently serving more than 20 schools and counting. The mission of Mentoring Alliance is to mobilize godly people into the lives of kids and families, to provide tangible help and eternal hope.

A summer camper who became a camp counselor, Tesa, says that Mentoring Alliance helped her grow spiritually and helped her realize that God is always with her and can put a smile on her face at any time. Parent Destiny Hinojosa says that having people who are willing to help a child because they want to, not because they have to, makes a person feel wanted and want to do better. Dr. Marty Crawford, Tyler ISD Superintendent, describes Mentoring Alliance as an authentic proven partner that can help achieve successful student outcomes.
