Fun-Fair-Positive Soccer (FFPS) offers 5-per-side soccer, also described as 5-a-side soccer, with 5 players per side instead of 11 per side. The program uses specially designed rules such as an Equal Substitution System so that all players rotate to each position and every player plays equally each game.

FFPS is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization that develops youth soccer leagues with local volunteers, using special rules and training to emphasize fun, fairness, self-esteem building, success, positive experiences, positive behavior, and positive values, with parents as positive fans “For the Kids.” The program uses 5-a-side soccer to allow everyone to get the ball many times, which the organization states makes the soccer program more fun and helps kids learn faster. FFPS states that all teams are balanced, there are no tryouts or all-star teams, and its philosophy is “Everyone Plays.”
Fun-Fair-Positive Soccer was founded in the spring of 1986 by Jack Hendrie and several parents in Katy, Texas, and in 1995 Jack decided to expand FFPS beyond Katy. FFPS reports that it has added 21 new programs in the last 24 years. FFPS lists features such as Every Kid Plays, Equal Playing Time, Balanced / Coed Teams, Everyone Included, NO Tryouts / All Stars, Special Kids Included, Trophy To Every Player, Kids May Keep Score, Positive Coaching, Positive Coach Training, Positive Parent Education, Encouraging Comments, Everyone Is Respected, Local Games – No Travel, Very Safe Rules, Great Exercise, Develop Coordination, More Ball Contact, Everyone Learns Fast, Play Every Position, coaching and encouraging parents, and both coaches on the field using positive coaching and enforcing rules with proper discretion in a cooperative way.
