Fun-Fair-Positive Soccer (FFPS)

Fun-Fair-Positive Soccer (FFPS) is a year-round youth soccer league for ages 4-18. The program uses a 5-a-side format, balanced teams, equal playing time, no tryouts, and no all-star teams. The schedule includes a fall season with games on Saturdays and practices once a week.

About the provider

FFPS was founded in the spring of 1986. The first season registered 150 players, and by 2004 there were 2,000 players in Katy. FFPS has added 21 new programs in the last 24 years for a total of 16,000 players. It is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Charitable Organization with leadership listed as Jack Hendrie, Kathlyn Wood, Kathy Savell, John Hendrie, Brad Hamilton, Tony Cardenas, and Julie Hendrie. FFPS also works with schools to help 'At Risk' kids get into the program, works with schools to ensure fields are well-kept, provides financial scholarships to anyone in Houston and the surrounding area who needs it, and uses the philosophy 'Everyone Plays'.

100% inclusion program. After registering, parents of children with special needs are interviewed to ensure FFPS meets their needs; the child is placed in the proper age group and may receive other changes to help meet the child's needs. FFPS has no tryouts or all-star teams, balanced teams, equal playing time, and parent training/positive coaching.
