About

The Cottonwood Country Club Junior Golf Program includes junior golf clinics, a junior golf league, and custom club-fitting through USKids and PING Golf. The junior golf program uses a sequential and skills-based approach to advancement, with clinics grouped by ability level and testing based on challenges in short game, putting, full-swing, and rules and etiquette. The program includes daily exercise and activities related to overall athletic development, and students work toward earning all Four Cottonwood Leaves by the end of summer.

• Ages: 6–14 years old
• Schedule: Summer-long junior league meeting 3 days per week from 10:00am–12:00pm, plus Four Leaf junior clinics offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in 3-clinic sessions

The Cottonwood Country Club Junior League is a summer-long program for ages 9–14 that includes weekly instruction and competition, with a curriculum focused on developing more advanced playing skills and understanding competitive formats and rules. Current Gold Leaf and Red Leaf junior players are invited to participate in the Junior League and are placed on the Ladder based on performance during the season. Students who earn the Gold Leaf are allowed on the course by themselves.

The Four Cottonwood Leaves are defined as Green Leaf – Beginner (B Clinics), recommended 1–4 sessions, 1 year or less experience, generally in the 6–9 year old age range; White Leaf – Budding Star (B Clinics), recommended 2–4 sessions, 2 years experience; Red Leaf – Player (A Clinics), recommended 2–4 sessions, 3 years experience; and Gold Leaf – Gamer (Junior League), 4+ years experience. Clinics are sequential, and advancement through the program is determined by the ability to pass skill-based challenges. The values listed for the junior golf program are Honesty, Respect, Perseverance, Integrity, Confidence, Courtesy, Sportsmanship, Responsibility, and Judgement.

Participation in the junior golf program is limited to members, and the Cottonwood Country Club is a private family club with some offerings open to the public. Registration for the 2026 season is scheduled to open March 11th at 6:00pm at Back to Activities Night. The Cottonwood Country Club was established in the 1950s and was envisioned as a family-centric destination encompassing swimming, tennis, golf, and clubhouse amenities.
