About the provider
Virginia Tanner created the Tanner Dance Program in 1949. The program continues to nurture an appreciation of dance, music, literature, theater and visual arts. It is internationally recognized, and Children’s Dance Theatre has earned state, national, and international recognition. Tanner Dance serves more than 40,000 students annually through seven unique programs.
Scholarship forms are due by 7/1/2026 for the fall semester. Families are asked to contribute 20 volunteer hours each year. Parking passes can be purchased at the office for $8 per month or $25 for the semester. All children must be toilet trained prior to attending the French Immersion program.
What families say
““The motivating force behind my work is not only developing excellent dancers, but more importantly, developing young people who are useful, imaginative, worthwhile human beings.”” — Virginia Tanner
““Your children have left an indelible impression with me of true creative dance…Your children offer a wonderful proof of the power of the young artist, guided wisely, untarnished by dogma or routine, unstereotyped, and lovely. This source of fresh ideas in dance–art is a treasure house to which you have found the key.”” — Doris Humphrey
““From the first, there was beauty. The children were wonderfully disciplined, yet gloriously free… They danced as if they had faith in themselves, had a love of those of us who were seeing them, actively believed in their God, and rejoiced in all of these.”” — Walter Terry
