Hale Centre Theatre Education – Youth Classes offers Youth Classes that take place in the same program as Adult Classes, Private Lessons, and Student Matinees. The program is part of the broader Hale Centre Theatre Education offerings, which also include an educational outreach program called Story Weavers and a FREE Cultural Celebration Series. Hale Centre Theatre also offers a virtual tour of HCT that connects to the environment where these classes are held.
David P. Smith serves as Director of Education, and Tianna Maxwell serves as Education Administrative Assistant. David P. Smith holds a Bachelors of Music from Brigham Young University with an emphasis in Media Music Studies and Contemporary Voice and has worked in theater education for over 20 years. Tianna has a BFA in Musical Theatre from Utah Valley University. Ashley began teaching for Stars National Dance Team when she was 18 and has taught at both Westminster College and Utah Valley University and has 20 years of teaching experience. Bailee Morris graduated from Brigham Young University in the Music Dance Theater program and teaches in the Contemporary Music and Music Dance Theater Department at Brigham Young University and in the Commercial Music Major at Utah Valley University. Courtney has a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance from Southern Utah University. Dale holds an AFA in Musical Theatre Performance & Education from Western Wyoming Community College and a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance from the University of Wyoming and has just over 15 years of professional experience in both performance and education.
Hale Centre Theatre has received Best of State awards for “Professional Theatre,” “Theatre Group,” and “Arts in Education.” David P. Smith has received awards from Timpanogos Arts Foundation, Utah Theatre Association, National Association of Teachers of Singing, and Best of State. Hale Centre Theatre is sponsored in part by a grant from the Salt Lake County Zoo, Arts and Parks Program, and recognizes Mountain America Credit Union as its Season Sponsor.
