About
Huntington Community Center Afterschool Programs offers a variety of structured activities, including Movement Monday, Tech Tuesday, Arts & Crafts Wednesday, Throwback Thursday, and Freedom Friday. Children take part in nature walks, dance classes, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) projects, local field trips, themed original decorative arts, unplugged activities without the use of technology, kids' choice activities, martial arts, and aerobics.

• Schedule: Center hours Monday–Friday 9 a.m.–8 p.m.; Saturday Noon–8 p.m.
The program takes place in a facility that includes a Multipurpose Room, a Game Room/Computer Lab, a billiard table, and a kitchen, with a building capacity set at 49 occupants. The Huntington Community Center Afterschool Programs are part of Therapeutic Recreation Services, whose mission is to provide opportunities for children and adults with disabilities to develop the skills that enable them to participate in the recreation and leisure programs of their choice. The center also offers room rentals for special occasions, social engagement programs for kids and adults of all ages and abilities, health and fitness programs, and personal development opportunities that include topics such as financial literacy. All NCS Community, Senior and Teen Centers, including this one, serve as warming and cooling centers during extreme weather, and visitors using the center for warming or cooling services do not have access to programming or classes unless they are current registered members. The Huntington Community Center serves as a resource for residents of all ages and abilities and serves as the local polling place for the surrounding community during election season.
