Altavista Area YMCA Youth Programs include youth basketball games and practices, child care, summer camp, health and wellness activities, sports, aquatics, swim lessons, youth sports, fitness classes, and youth sports leagues. The program uses basketball courts and other YMCA facilities for these activities, including organized youth basketball games and practices held on weeknights from December through February.
• Schedule: Basketball courts close Monday–Friday from 5:30–8 pm for youth basketball games and practices from December through February.
Child Care at the Y is described as more than looking after kids, with a focus on nurturing their development by providing a safe place to learn foundational skills, develop healthy, trusting relationships, and build self-reliance.
