About

Cookology Kids’ Program offers hands-on cooking classes and camps for children ages 3 to 18. Children as young as 3 learn to measure, mix, and roll, and 8-year-olds begin knife skills using a 7-inch Santoku knife. The program includes Mommy/Daddy/Grandparent/Caregiver & Me classes, family classes, spring break, winter, and summer camps, teen programs, and cooking workshops.

  • Cookology Kids’ Program — Ages 3-18; summer camps open to ages 8-11 and 12-17; 5-7 year olds have a 2 hour workshop; 16+ may take adult classes · Spring Break/Winter Camp/Summer Camp; 5-7 year olds: 2 hour workshop three days per week, once per month over the summer; ages 8+ daily cooking workshops from 9:00 am–12:30 pm and 1:30 pm–5:00 pm · Hands-on cooking classes and camps for kids; includes Mommy/Daddy/Grandparent/Caregiver & Me, family classes, spring/summer camps, teen programs, and cooking workshops.

About the provider

Since 2014, a Washington Parent readers’ poll has voted Cookology Best For Families, specifically for Kid’s Cooking Classes. The instructors are professional, ServSafe manager certified, culinary trained chefs, and the business operates under business and health department licenses in Arlington County. Its mission statement is: “Inspiring people to connect through food. We have created a safe, nurturing environment for kids to learn how to cook.”

Class cancellations must be received via phone or e-mail at least 48 hours in advance to receive a class credit; no credit or refund for cancellations within 48 hours of class for any reason. All class credits must be used within 30 days of issuance. Closed toed shoes required for all classes. 7 year olds are not accepted in any class where a knife is used. 16+ year olds are permitted and encouraged to take adult classes with or without an adult; if they have no prior cooking experience, they should cook alongside an adult.
