Signature Theatre Education & Learning Programs are part of Signature Theatre’s Education & Learning offerings, which include educational and teaching programs for children and adults. These programs take place within Signature Theatre’s broader environment, which also features SigWorks: New Works, a program dedicated to developing future theater works and artists.

Signature Theatre’s Education & Learning efforts are described as impactful education and outreach initiatives. The organization was founded in 1989 by Eric Schaeffer and Donna Migliaccio and is led by Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner and Managing Director Maggie Boland. Signature Theatre presents an annual Sondheim Award Gala that honors individuals who have contributed to the works of Stephen Sondheim and the canon of American musical theater. The theatre also offers accessibility options and allows free parking for Signature patrons in any public lot in downtown Shirlington. Audience responses to Signature’s productions include comments such as “WONDERFUL production. One of the best things I've ever seen on the stage” for Fiddler on the Roof (2025) and “Literal best production of this show I have ever seen” for In the Heights (2025).
