Southwestern Youth Association (SYA) Sports Programs offers a wide range of sports, including baseball, Babe Ruth Baseball, Little League Baseball, Tee Ball, Challenger Baseball, travel baseball, basketball, house basketball, SYA AAU Basketball, travel basketball, cheerleading, sideline cheerleading, competition cheerleading, competitive cheer, cricket, rec cricket, travel cricket, cross country, field hockey, football, tackle football, flag football, lacrosse, rugby, soccer, rec soccer, travel soccer, softball, Little League Softball, travel softball, track & field, SYA Ultimate Frisbee, Ultimate Frisbee, volleyball, club volleyball, house volleyball, travel volleyball, and wrestling. The program also runs a Spring Multi-Sport Clinic and SYA Summer Sports Park Multi-Sport Camps, along with SYA-branded offerings such as SYA Recreational Soccer, SYA Little League Softball, SYA Babe Ruth, SYA Little League Baseball, SYA Flag Football, SYA Travel Baseball, SYA House Volleyball, SYA Recreational Cricket, SYA Track & Field, and SYA Lacrosse. SYA notes that it offers over a dozen sports and seasonal camps and clinics featuring over a dozen sporting options.

SYA describes itself as a local nonprofit volunteer organization and an all-volunteer non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. SYA states that it has been operating for over fifty years and that it serves over 13,000 children and 5,000 families in Southwestern Fairfax County, describing itself as a local athletic mainstay of Centreville, Clifton, and surrounding communities in Fairfax County. SYA states that it is “giving the next generation the universal experience of sport” and that “every child deserves to play, grow, and thrive through sports,” and notes that scholarship and financial aid are available so no child is left on the sidelines. SYA also notes that donations are tax-deductible.

The leadership team includes a Babe Ruth Coordinator (Tony Himelright), Field Hockey Commissioner (KJ Martin), Rugby Commissioner (Brian Robinson), Basketball Commissioners (Mallory Trullender and Brian An), Football Commissioner (Felix Otchere), Soccer Commissioner (Ed McCarthy), Cheerleading Commissioner (Tammy McCarron), Lacrosse Commissioner (DeAnna Hughes), Track & Field Commissioner (Alonzo Davis), Cricket Commissioner (Rajneesh Chadha), Little League Baseball Commissioner (Bob Woodruff), Volleyball Commissioner (Meet Gill), Ultimate Frisbee Commissioner (Ben Burdetsky), Little League Softball Commissioner (Bob Woodruff), and Wrestling Commissioner (Randy Thur).
