Highkicks Taekwondo has been serving the Chantilly, Herndon, Fairfax, South Riding, Sterling, Ashburn, and Centreville areas since the late 1990s and describes itself as “Serving Our Communities Since 1996” and “Chantilly's Premier Source For Martial Arts Training.” All instructors hold master black belts in Taekwondo and have trained for years to qualify as instructors. The leadership team includes owners Master Brian and Mrs. Beth, instructor Master Fiona, and front desk staff member Master Sam, and Master Brian and his team are described as excellent role models and instructors.
The program’s mission states that it is dedicated to making the martial arts experience enjoyable and satisfying, helping participants reach their goals, and offering carefully structured programs that go beyond punching, blocking, and kicking. The mission also describes a focus on effective self-defense skills, a comprehensive personal development program, teaching the intricacies of Taekwondo, improving confidence, instilling a sense of purpose, and supporting students on and off the mats. One testimonial notes that both children in a family have trained there for over four years, with one earning a 2nd degree black belt and the other preparing for a black belt test in February 2020, and describes the environment as welcoming, caring, and nurturing. Other testimonials describe the staff as phenomenal, the evening classes as just as popular as the afterschool care, and say that Highkicks makes families feel like family.
