Gryphon Gymnastics offers gymnastics classes, dance classes, Kids’ Night Out, and Open Gym. The program includes different types of class structures, from unstructured Open Gym time up to competitive team, and offers gymnastics classes that cater to all ages.
All instructors at Gryphon Gymnastics are required to be certified in USAG Safety, First Aid/CPR, and CDC Concussion Safety. The program follows a Triple S Philosophy of Safety, Service, and Support, and completes daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checks and cleanings on equipment. The founder, Abby Reid, received her BFA in Dance Education and a license to teach dance in schools K–12 from East Carolina University, has been teaching dance since around 2000, and has been coaching gymnastics since 2003. The leadership team includes Abby Reid (founder), Ivan (office manager), Bella (rec, advanced), Sunny (toddler, rec), and Tori (toddler, rec, advanced). The stated goal of the program is to build confidence, foster independence, facilitate self-advocacy, and instill a love of fitness through gymnastics and dance classes for children of all ages. They also mention an opportunity to learn about how they give back to their community. One parent shared, “I absolutely LOVE Gryphon Gymnastics! They are so professional, and all the instructors are so great with children...it is such a wonderful way for kids to have loads of fun while getting energy out, practicing new skills, & gaining confidence in the process!”
