Grovespring Farm Riding Programs and Summer Camp

Grovespring Farm Riding Programs and Summer Camp offers riding lessons, ground work, mounted lessons, and clinics, including confirmation clinics. Riders can take part in schooling young horses, going to shows, riding to hounds, hunter pacing, and field trips to ride out. The summer camp includes riding every day, with some camps focusing on schooling young horses, horse showing, or riding to hounds.

Grovespring Farm Riding Programs and Summer Camp is led by Susan Deal and Kris Deal. Susan Deal is a certified instructor with the United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA). Grovespring Farm is a Recognized Riding Academy (RRA) with the United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA). The program includes junior and adult programs, and uses educated and safe school horses. Clinics are a regular part of the program. The stated mission is: “We help people connect to horses, learn, and have fun!” In 2005, Susan rode her horse Penn Park to the North American Field Hunter Championship. In 2019, Susan won the Hunter Division of the Retired Race Horse Project/Thoroughbred Makeover, a national competition in Lexington, KY. Kris was the 2009 Virginia Point-to-Point Association Optimum Time Over Fences overall winner.
