Summer Camp Y-Abunga!

Family YMCA of Emporia-Greensville Youth Programs includes activities such as group exercise classes, Child Watch, summer camp programming, After-School Care, preschool, a teen program, camping, physical fitness, and swim lessons. The programs also have access to an outdoor climbing wall, an indoor walking track, and a gymnasium. The facility also offers SilverSneakers and a program called Camp Y-Abunga.

Serving Emporia-Greensville since 2001, the Family YMCA of Emporia-Greensville Youth Programs began in a storefront facility that opened on June 27, 2001. With financial support from the Greensville Memorial Foundation, organizers launched a Founder’s Campaign and later partnered with the foundation to build a new facility. The YMCA reports having over 2,100 individual members and averaging over 71,000 visits per year, and it notes that there is no joiners fee. The YMCA states its mission as: “To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.” The YMCA also notes that it has been a pioneering force in the United States for nearly 160 years.
