Family YMCA of Emporia-Greensville Youth Programs offers activities that include group exercise classes, SilverSneakers, use of a fitness center, Child Watch, summer camp programming, After-School Care, preschool, and a teen program. Family YMCA of Emporia-Greensville Youth Programs takes place in a new, 27,500+ square foot facility that includes an outdoor climbing wall, an indoor walking track, and a gymnasium. The organization has been serving Emporia-Greensville since 2001 and opened a storefront facility on June 27, 2001. It reports over 2,100 individual members and an average of over 71,000 visits per year. Its mission statement is: “To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.” The YMCA notes a partnership with the Greensville Memorial Foundation, which provided financial support to launch a Founder’s Campaign and open a storefront facility, and later partnered again to build a new facility. One of its youth offerings is called Camp Y-Abunga!.
