Kidcreate Studio - Fairfax Station, 5616 Ox Rd, Suite A, Fairfax Station, VA 22039
About
Kidcreate Studio is an art studio just for kids that offers children’s art classes, camps, weekly classes, workshops, and homeschool classes. The program also offers art themed birthday parties at the studio and at home, private parties for moms groups, play groups, and scout troops, and mobile on-the-go classes and parties. Kids take part in activities such as a sensory play experience, a slime-making class, making clay angels, jumbo spin art, graffiti, and throwing paint at walls, and they create fridge-worthy masterpieces while learning art concepts and experimenting with many different art materials.
• Ages: 2–12 years old
• Schedule: Franchise headquarters are open Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm MST, by appointment only.
Kidcreate Studio’s curriculum is designed to meet the unique developmental needs of each age group, with age-specific weekly classes, camps, workshops, and homeschool classes tailored to provide each student with the curriculum that suits them best. The studio offers a positive, self-esteem building environment for children to explore the visual arts, where children get messy with paint, clay, and more. Birthday party guests each create a take-home art project with the help of a Kidcreate instructor, Kidcreate handles party clean up, and parties can include elements such as a birthday crown and a giant birthday card mural, with 100's of art projects available for parties. Mobile classes are also used to add more art education into the lives of kids in organizations such as daycares, charter and private schools, preschools, and community programs.
Kidcreate Studio presents art as a way to teach math, science, history, and creativity, and states that art education has a measurable positive impact on academics. The program notes that creating art can validate the uniqueness of a child and build self-worth, and that artistic activities promote growth in positive social skills including self-confidence, self-control, conflict resolution, collaboration, empathy, and social tolerance. It also states that visual arts have been shown to improve writing, reading skills, interpretation of text, reasoning about scientific images, and reading readiness, and that art encourages critical thinking, reasoning ability, intuition, perception, imagination, inventiveness, creativity, problem-solving skills, and expression. Customers are able to drop kids off for an hour or more of “ME-TIME” while kids do art.
Parent reviews describe Kidcreate Studio as “such a cute, fun, and creative space” and “a great option for kids to get messy, have some fun and be creative.” Several parents highlight birthday parties, including studio parties and at-home parties where staff assisted children making clay angels, and note that kids were engaged, proud to bring their art home, and that Kidcreate handled planning and cleanup. Other reviews mention sensory play birthday parties, slime-making classes, parents nights out, and camps, with comments that staff were friendly, organized, enthusiastic, and kept the kids entertained while they created art.
