STEPS Head Start & Childcare

STEPS Head Start & Childcare offers Head Start for preschool age children 3-5 and Early Head Start for infants and toddlers ages 6 weeks to 36 months. It also offers an Expectant Mothers Program for pregnant women and their families. Other options include Little Movers Childcare, Mixed Delivery, Subsidy, private pay childcare, Head Start Wrap Around, and Early Head Start Wrap Around.

• Private pay childcare — infants, toddlers, and preschool age children · $210 per week · Available in Farmville, VA.
• Head Start Wrap Around (Full day) — $115 per week
• Early Head Start Wrap Around (Full day) — $130 per week

STEPS Head Start & Childcare is an early childhood education program serving infants, toddlers, and preschool age children. Its mission is to provide high quality, developmentally appropriate learning environments, foster exploration, and encourage play. Through a holistic 2Gen approach to services, STEPS says it works to strengthen the skills of participants and prepare children and families to be school ready.

We have a variety of program options to meet your family's needs. Some programs are no or low cost. We use one application for enrollment and staff will work to determine the program options that you qualify for. Families must meet federal eligibility guidelines for Head Start and Early Head Start. Mixed Delivery is state funded childcare that is 12 months of the year. Parents will have a co-payment that will not exceed 7% of their income. Parents must be employed to qualify for Mixed Delivery.
