The June Bug Center Afterschool Programs

The June Bug Center Afterschool Programs offer activities such as JAMs (Junior Appalachian Musicians), Blue Ridge Strings, STEAM, Improv, Theatre, Collaborative Storytelling, and Music Education. Programs also include community theatre productions and hosted classes in a movement arts studio led by highly qualified instructors from the community.

The June Bug Center for Arts and Education (JBC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to providing music, performing arts, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) through ongoing afterschool programs, classes, and community theatre productions that are affordable to the community. The June Bug Center is a 501c3 nonprofit created in 2001 by Donald H. “Swede” McBroom and Dorian Dugger. Programs at The June Bug Center are described as designed to enrich the lives of participants and the wider community in Floyd, VA, and the center is home to numerous performing arts groups in the community, including the New River Theatre Guild and Blue Ridge Story Space.
