Northern Virginia 4-H Educational and Conference Center Camps & Programs

Northern Virginia 4-H Educational and Conference Center Camps & Programs offers activities such as a team building ropes course, canoeing, archery, and animal tracking. Campers also take part in a guided hike on the Appalachian Trail, and some programs include lifeguard certification.

Founded in 1976, the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational and Conference Center has offered year-round, research-based programming to the youth and families of Northern Virginia since 1981. The Center’s mission is to facilitate proven experiential learning programs for youth, families, and adults that educate, inspire and connect. The Center has been accredited by the American Camp Association since 1995 and was voted best camp in 2022. Virginia Cooperative Extension, a partnership of Virginia Tech, Virginia State University, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and local governments, serves 19 counties and cities connected with this Center. The Center is home to year-round camps and educational programs, hosts a variety of corporate retreats, festivals, team building programs, and outdoor recreation, and is host to a wide variety of local, regional, and national events every year. It offers flexible facility rentals and onsite dining options, multiple lodging options, an auditorium, 11 meeting spaces, 4 lodges, 3 rentable shelters, 3 recreational fields, a Challenge Course, a Camp Fire Circle, and an amphitheater, with programs that develop group dynamics, teamwork, and cooperation. The Challenge Course and Camp Fire Circle are noted by generations of visitors for the inspiration and community they have built over the years.
