Gloucester Parks, Recreation & Tourism Athletics & Recreation Programs offers activities such as gymnastics, yoga, fitness, day trips, and park programs. The program also includes sports and outdoor activities such as soccer, softball, fishing, kayaking, walking trails, and horseback riding trails. Athletics in these programs are made possible by volunteer coaches and officials, and background checks are conducted on volunteers working with children.

Gloucester County residents have access to several athletics leagues connected with these programs, including Gloucester Outlaws Football & Cheer, Gloucester Youth Baseball & Softball, Gloucester Youth Football & Cheer, Baystars Travel Soccer & Baseball, Guerilla Wrestling, and Peninsula Youth Field Hockey. Gloucester Parks, Recreation & Tourism is seeking volunteers to join the Recreation & Athletics Division, and athletic fields can be reserved for league events or practices. Alcohol is not permitted on any County property, and dogs are allowed in parks but must be kept on a leash and owners must clean up after them. The Legacy Donation Program allows memorial or honor gifts such as trees, benches, picnic tables, and other items at Gloucester County parks. Gloucester County’s Clean Community efforts include promoting recycling and proper disposal of solid waste, organizing group cleanups and beautification projects, offering outreach and education programs in schools and for groups, supporting Adopt-A-Boat Ramp, Adopt-A-Highway, and Adopt-A-Spot programs, and managing grants that fund local cleanup and “greenup” projects.
