Colvin Run Mill Classes and Camps take place at a 200-year-old working mill that is described as Fairfax County's award-winning, operational, 19th-century water-powered gristmill. The historic house includes a free self-guided exhibit, and there is ample free parking for school buses. Colvin Run Mill is on the National Register of Historic Places and is noted as one of the few preserved industrial sites from the 1800s. The Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum teamed with Colvin Run Mill to create a video about simple machines for the Smithsonian's STEM in 30 project. The program is managed by Colvin Run Mill Manager Kiersten Fiore.
