Henrico Recreation & Parks Programs offers residents a variety of events and activities for all ages and abilities. Programs include options in visual arts, nature and outdoors, and activities for preschool children through senior adults. Summer Programs from June through August are available to view, with summer registration opening on May 18, and program registration is available online 24/7 with search by category, age, or location and payment by major credit cards with a small convenience fee.

Henrico Recreation & Parks focuses on Enriching Lives and Connecting Communities. Henrico County Recreation & Parks is a CAPRA Accredited Agency, and CAPRA accreditation is the only national accreditation for park and recreation agencies and is a measure of an agency’s overall quality of operation, management and service to the community. Henrico County Recreation & Parks was first awarded CAPRA accreditation in September 2019 and received re-accreditation in September 2024. The department provides an e-newsletter called Recreation Round-Up and offers a Rec & Parks app as an on-the-go guide to parks, facilities, events, and programs. Henrico County’s VA250 committee is part of larger state and national efforts to recognize the people and events of the American colonies’ fight for independence and its founding through an ongoing series of programs, events, and projects.
