Farm Events, Classes, and Equine Training – River Mountain Farm offers horsemanship lessons, classical and natural riding programs, and equine training, including starting horses and equine liberty training. The program includes private, group, and extended horsemanship sessions, as well as restoration retreats and weekend workshops that blend yoga, meditation, art, and horse-guided self-discovery. Additional activities include dance, acrobatics, and art classes, birthday parties, summer camps, and creative projects such as murals, body art, and art and emergence sessions.

Simon and Janine Aberg run River Mountain Farm and Life Center. The farm’s mission states that its horsemanship programs emphasize timing, feel, and balance, both at liberty and under saddle, and that they integrate positive horsemanship, mindfulness, and meditative practices to ground both horses and humans in an artistic and harmonious partnership. The programs are described as connecting people with horses, nature, and creativity, centering on reconnecting with nature and finding joy, creativity, and fulfillment in the simple rhythms of life, and using methods that combine equine engagement, education, art, movement, interaction, and meditation to cultivate emotional awareness, confidence, and harmony. Experiences are also offered through art, horsemanship, dance, yoga, and wellness sessions, including the Photon Genius/Super Sauna.
Janine holds a BA in Performing Arts from the University of the Nations and an MA in Conflict Transformation from Eastern Mennonite University’s Center for Justice and Peacebuilding. Her community involvement includes painting murals in homes, churches, and businesses across South Africa, Hawaii, and Virginia, including projects for Dick Myers, Sentara RMH Wellness Center, and J. Frank Hillyard Middle School. Her credentials include awards at the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival and the Waimea Arts Council in Hawaii, a residency with Philadelphia Mural Arts, and exhibiting work during the 2012 Olympic Games in the UK.
