About
CrossRoads Summer Camp offers a traditional, residential summer camp program that includes activities such as a Giant Swing, two climbing walls, a high ropes course, and a Pamper Pole. Campers also have access to Gaga Ball, hiking trails, archery, basketball, volleyball, Human Foosball, swimming (seasonal), indoor recreation in a full-sized gymnasium, campfire sites, and outdoor worship areas. The camp operates as a year-round conference center in addition to its summer camp program.

CrossRoads Summer Camp is part of CrossRoads Camp & Conference Center, which has a dining facility in Hunt Hall with a capacity of over 200 and offers special meals at special rates for groups such as couples and seasonal banquets. Plans to accommodate dietary restrictions can be arranged in advance, and snack and coffee service is available for meetings and conferences upon request. CrossRoads is a ministry of the Woman’s Missionary Union of Virginia, and its stated mission is that Crossroads exists to cultivate SPACE for people to experience God.
The leadership team includes Kenny Daniel (Operations & Pastoral Director), Grace Walbroehl (Summer Camp Director), Becca Daniel (Office Manager), Jay Fines (Facilities Manager), Wendie Fines (Housekeeping Manager), Eric Womble (Food Service Manager), and Chase Moore (Assistant Kitchen Manager). Chef Eric Womble has three decades of diverse experience in the kitchen and is a graduate of Johnson & Wales Culinary School.
The camp’s history includes the Woman’s Missionary Union of Virginia beginning camp ministry in 1917 with a Young Women’s Auxiliary Camp in Virginia Beach, operating three camps across Virginia by 1955, purchasing 606 acres in 1981 with plans to develop one central camp, opening Camp Little CrossRoads in 1985, and renaming it CrossRoads Camp & Conference Center in 1998 to reflect its year-round focus on camping and retreats. The property includes 606 acres with the Little Piney River running through the camp and borders the George Washington National Forest. Accommodations at the center include the Ukrop Conference Center with hotel-style rooms and meeting spaces, the House of Happiness in a lodge style with two meeting areas, and a Cabin Village with four rustic buildings providing four cabin areas each with bunk beds, for a total of 16 cabin spaces. Ukrop Conference Center features a 60-seat conference room, a lounge, and complimentary coffee and refreshment facilities, while Hunt Auditorium seats 250 and is equipped for multimedia-rich worship services with three alcoves that can be separated for breakout sessions or classroom space. Each Cabin Meeting Lodge provides seating for 50 and is located next to each cabin, and complimentary wireless internet is available in Hunt Hall and Ukrop Conference Center. Tracks that allow campers to choose their own adventure are mentioned as returning in 2026.
