Amazement Square Kids Programs include hands-on workshops, themed days, and seasonal celebrations. Children can paint on the walls, experiment with weather, explore life on the farm, float boats down the James River, and take the stage in a band of their own. The Amazement Tower offers slides, ladders, tunnels, and a zip-line as part of a multi-story play structure that connects different activity areas.

Amazement Square Kids Programs are part of an award-winning children’s museum that spans four floors with interactive experiences. Amazement Square states that it cultivates a community of lifelong learners by sparking imagination, creativity, and curiosity as a hands-on, multi-disciplinary museum. Amazement Square is the only museum in Virginia designated as a Certified Autism Center. In 2024, more than 8,000 students participated in SOL-based school programs, with an additional 2,000 reached through Inside Out outreach programs. In 2024, the Everyone is Special program supported 700 children with disabilities and their families through free sensory-sensitive museum and outreach experiences. In 2024, Exploration for All provided reduced-rate admission to 3,852 visitors from families participating in SNAP/EBT programs. Amazement Square will be celebrating 25 years of hands-on learning and community impact in 2026.
