Manassas Park Parks and Recreation Summer Camps take place at the Manassas Park Community Center, which operates with extended hours throughout the week. The Community Center is described as a full service site that is more than just an active recreation facility and is planned with a 50-year mandate. It also serves as a physical resource and functioning contributor to the delivery of human services to the citizens of Manassas Park.
• Ages: 5–17 years old
• Schedule: Manassas Park Community Center hours of operation are Monday–Friday 8am–9pm, Saturday 7am–7pm, and Sunday 10am–6pm.
• Price: Daily Admission Rates: Resident Youth (2–11) $4.00, Non-Resident Youth (2–11) $6.00, Resident Teen (12–17 with ID) $3.00, Non-Resident Teen (12–17 with ID) $3.00, Resident Adult (18–59) $5.00, Non-Resident Adult (18–59) $9.00, Resident Senior (60+) $2.00, Non-Resident Senior (60+) $4.00, Spectator $2.00 for both Resident and Non-Resident.
The Department of Parks and Recreation states that its mission is to provide a variety of high quality, diverse leisure opportunities, foster the city’s parks and natural resources, and support the individual growth and well being of its citizens. The Department builds partnerships with a wide range of community organizations, including Manassas Park City Schools, Manassas Park Social Services, the American Red Cross, ACTS, The ARC of Greater Prince William County, George Mason University, Prince William County Community Services, and others, and in partnership with the American Red Cross the Community Center can support over 1000 citizens as a functional shelter in the event of an emergency.
Beginning July 1, 2024, all guests must present a photo ID that includes the name and photo of the patron to utilize the facility, and the front desk will scan IDs to streamline future visits, with patrons without a photo ID not permitted to use the facility. The Department of Parks and Recreation follows a registration policy where registration is on a first come, first serve basis, most fee-based classes and programs are available to non-city residents at an additional fee, there is a $35.00 returned check fee for any check returned by the bank, and the Department reserves the right to cancel any class or program which does not meet the minimum enrollment, with cancellations occurring 5 days prior to the program start date. The Department states that classes, programs, events, and facilities are open to all citizens regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, or disability, and that reasonable efforts will be made to provide accommodations based on individual need.
