Founder Brande Lee Morrow created Aerial Spirit. Brande is certified in group fitness through the Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and is a registered Vinyasa Yoga instructor (RYT-200). She is certified in prenatal and post-natal yoga, Total Barre Fitness, Zumba, TRX, Pilates Suspension Method, and is comprehensively certified in Pilates through Dawn Pilates Studio under Director of Education Everlea Bryant, NCPT, CPT. Brande has received teacher trainings in aerial and circus arts through OCAA/RKP, Circus Arts Institute (CAI), AURA Pole Dance Fitness, and SHOW Circus Studio.

Brande Lee has been training and performing circus and aerial arts since 2009, beginning with Orange County Aerial Arts/Ruby Karen Project (OCAA/RPK) in September 2009. She trained at the New England Center for Circus Arts (NECCA) in the 2013–2014 Intensive Training Program and was an aerialist in the Cirque de la Mer show at Sea World, San Diego, from 2014–2016. She participated in Aerial Arts America's 2nd Annual West Coast Aerial Arts Festival in November 2014, where she placed 1st in her tissu/silk professional category and 1st overall, and she was selected and competed as a finalist in the silks category for the inaugural U.S. Aerial Championships in New York City in February 2015. Brande made her Chicago debut in the 10th annual Harvest Chicago Contemporary Dance Festival in September 2019.

Aerial Spirit states that its mission is “creating strength & beauty that lift your spirit.” The program describes lessons as both relaxed and intense as students work toward personal goals. Within a set standard of progressions at each level, Brande encourages self-expression in addition to learned technique and emphasizes that students have choice and autonomy in what they learn and how they express the moves being taught, with variations highlighted as important. The program states that safety is the top priority in classes and that the art of “play” is also a priority. Aerial Spirit partners with studios in multiple locations around South Hampton Roads.
