Youth Classes and Art Camps at the Goode Family Visual Arts School take place in a newly renovated visual arts school. The program is part of the Hermitage Museum & Gardens, which includes contemporary exhibition galleries and a nationally recognized art collection spanning 5,000 years. The broader site also includes 12 acres of gardens and grounds that are part of the same arts and nature setting as the school.
The Hermitage Museum and Gardens states that its mission is to invite people of all backgrounds to explore and discover nature and the arts through spaces that inspire creation, learning, conservation, and connection. The Hermitage is part of the Smithsonian Affiliations program, and there are more than 180 Smithsonian Affiliates in more than 40 states, Puerto Rico, and Panama. The Hermitage was awarded accreditation from the American Alliance of Museums in October 2017. Free admission to the Hermitage Museum & Gardens is offered Tuesday through Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm.
