Richmond Academy of Ballet

Richmond Academy of Ballet offers First Steps classes, Conservatory Prep and Youth dance classes, Upper Levels and Conservatory training, day camps, evening classes, and summer intensives. Specific options include Story Book Ballet Camp, Ballet Arts Camp, Intro to Ballet Intensives, Junior Ballet Intensive, several levels of Pre-Professional Ballet Intensives, and a Contemporary Intensive. The program includes both classical ballet and contemporary dance classes.

Richmond Academy of Ballet is led by directors Michelle and Jack. Its mission is “to inspire generation after generation to see more beauty in the world and then to find their own contribution to it.” The school highlights core beliefs of Reverence, Courage, and Strength.

Summer programs at Richmond Academy of Ballet include day camps, evening classes, and summer intensives for ages 3 and up, including Story Book Ballet Camp for ages 3–5, Ballet Arts Camp for ages 6–10, Junior Ballet Intensive for ages 9–12, Intro to Ballet Intensives for Ballet 1 and Ballet 2, several Pre-Professional Ballet Intensives for Ballet 4, Ballet 5, Ballet 6, Ballet 7, and Ballet Pro, and a Contemporary Intensive for Ballet 5, Ballet 6, Ballet 7, and Ballet Pro. Richmond Academy of Ballet is beginning preparations to bring the school to Paris in 2026, where students will study with Parisian ballet masters, learn new choreography, and finish their trip with a performance in Paris.
