About

Orange County Youth Academy offers activities that include a K9 demo, drone demo, fingerprinting, and a fire extinguisher demo. Participants also take part in a tour of Central Virginia Regional Jail, swimming at Lake Anna, hiking, and fishing. Campers explore the world of public safety through hands-on experiences, engaging simulations, and interaction with Sheriff's Deputies, Firefighters, and EMS personnel.

• Ages: 14–18 years old
• Schedule: Offered June 9–13 or June 23–27, with days running Monday–Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Lunch and snacks are provided for participants. The Youth Academy is hosted by the Orange County Sheriff's Office and Fire & EMS Departments. Through the stated hands-on experiences and interactions, participants gain a deeper understanding of public safety professions while learning about teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership.
