CharacterWorks offers theater arts classes that include drama, voice, dance, and specialty theater arts training. The program presents Broadway-style shows, full musical productions, and musical theater-inspired classes, as well as musical theater day camps, musical theater summer camps, and overnight camps. These activities are based around three foundational programs: theater arts classes, Broadway-style shows, and musical theater summer camps.
• Ages: 6–18 years old
• Schedule: During the fall, winter, and spring, students are invited to enroll in musical theater-inspired classes in 8-week sessions.
CharacterWorks has been offering classes, camps, and productions for students ages 6–18 since 2001. It is a faith-based non-profit 501(c)3 after-school theater program that welcomes all children and families to participate in classes, camps, and shows. The organization is dedicated to the mission of honoring Christ, building character, and creating community through quality theater arts education and productions, and its productions are family friendly. CharacterWorks has a Statement of Faith that clarifies its biblical worldview and asks students and volunteers to honor a Code of Conduct while at CharacterWorks. CharacterWorks is creating community through quality theater arts education and productions and building a community of families through the direct involvement of each family member’s talents, interests, and abilities. Office hours are by appointment, and the 2025–2026 Season Sponsor is The Good Feet Store.
The leadership team includes Brooke Abrahamsen (Artistic Director), Jacob Filegar (Producing Director), Mike George (Managing Director), Joy Osborne (Registrar/Box Office, Camp Director), Becky McNamee (Director of Development/Academy Director), and Ashley Love (Educational and Artistic Associate).
One parent, Bonnie B., describes CharacterWorks as an organization that promotes good character and teamwork and thanks the staff for promoting character, teamwork, and the love of Christ through performing arts. Another family, Erin and Garrett Noegel, shares that their girls enjoy taking classes, being part of the big shows, and watching them as well.
