About
Swim Lessons takes place in the pools that are part of the aquatics programs at the Carole and Marcus Weinstein Jewish Community Center. The program is offered alongside other aquatics options such as Group Swim Lessons, a Year Round Swim Team, a Summer Swim Team, Water Aerobics, and the Master Fins Swimming program for adults aged 19 and older. Families encounter these swim lessons within a larger setting that also includes sports and recreation areas for activities such as Basketball & Soccer Training, Adult Futsal Open Play, Adult Pickleball Open Play, and Adult Basketball Open Play.
The Swim Lessons program is part of an organization whose stated mission is to provide educational, physical, and spiritual wellness programs and experiences for all ages and abilities, guided by Jewish values and culture, and to offer an environment for the community to gather and build connections. The Weinstein JCC, which runs Swim Lessons as one of its aquatics programs, has been recognized by Richmond magazine readers as the best preschool, afterschool, Enrichment Classes, and summer camp, and as one of the best membership gyms in the area. The center also highlights several internal awards, including the Arenstein Family Excellence in Youth Service Award, the Leroy B. Goldberg Leadership Award, the Esther, Edith & H. J. Bernstein Volunteer Leadership Award, and the Barbara Wise JCC Staff Excellence Award, and notes that Chris Greenberg serves as the Board President.
