Smithfield Little Theatre Youth Programs

Smithfield Little Theatre Youth Programs include a Teen Intensive Acting Workshop that leads to a presentation of The Monologue Show, as well as Matilda Jr. and Descendants The Musical Summer Youth Projects. Youth in these programs work on aspects of putting on a show, including dialects, comedic timing, characterization, and related skills. The Teen Intensive Acting Workshop has only 15 slots available.

• Schedule: Teen Intensive Acting Workshop runs February 7–March 14, 2026, with Saturday sessions and a March 14 showcase; Matilda Jr. Summer Youth Project runs June 6–July 26, 2026; Descendants The Musical Summer Youth Project runs June 9–August 6, 2026.

The Teen Intensive Acting Workshop meets on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm from February 7 to March 14, 2026, with a showcase of The Monologue Show on March 14 at 2:00 pm. The Matilda Jr. Summer Youth Project for children ages 6–12 begins with an orientation on June 6, 2026, at 2:00 pm and rehearses June 6–July 26, 2026, Monday through Thursday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The Descendants The Musical Summer Youth Project for ages 13–18 rehearses June 9–August 6, 2026, Monday through Thursday from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm.

Smithfield Little Theatre lists a copyright range of 2000–2026. The organization is led by the SLT Board of Directors, with officers President James Clarke (2025–2028), Vice President Jenn Melms (2023–2026), Secretary Judy Post (2025–2028), and Treasurer Judy Winslow (2023–2026), along with additional board members and committee chairs for areas such as Education, Marketing, Lighting Technical, Sound Technical, and Wardrobe.
