The St. James Soccer

The St. James Soccer offers Rec Soccer, Discover the Game, Rec League, Rec Plus, Summer Camps, Chelsea FC Camps, and Striker & Goalkeeper Training. Discover the Game is an introductory beginner program focused on basic motor skills, coordination, and comfort with the ball, and Rec Plus includes an additional weekly practice with professional coaches to improve individual technique and introduce basic group tactics. Striker & Goalkeeper Training includes position-specific training with an emphasis on performance, mental skills and leadership, and game management.

Programs

• Rec Soccer — Ages 2-13 · Year-round play available; locations throughout Northern VA; coached by parent volunteers.

• Rec League — Ages 5-13 · Traditional league format focused on learning the fundamentals of soccer, developing skills, and building a love for the game.

The leadership team includes Adam Baumgardner, Director of Soccer; Amine El-Hachimi, Technical Director; Nick Pedaline, Recreational & Pre-Travel Director; Herve Diese, MLS Next Director, U13 Head Coach, and UPSL Head Coach; Brandon Nichols, Camps Director; Lewis Bayly, Chelsea FC Program Director; and Patrick Kaindl, Chantilly Director. The mission statement says The St. James provides a progressive path that develops ball skills, confidence, and tactical understanding as athletes advance.

Rec soccer is beginner-friendly; no experience is required. All beginner soccer programs rely on parent coaching volunteers. Sibling discounts are available. Soccer programs are held throughout Northern VA, with homebase at The St. James in Springfield, Virginia.
