Parks & Recreation Summer Camps

Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation Youth Programs and Camps include activities such as swimming, fishing, hiking, and biking. The program also offers aquatic programs, fitness programs, outdoor programs, therapeutic recreation programs, inclusion services, community events, adult sports leagues, before and after-school programs, early childhood programs, and day camps.

Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation is dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles and protecting the coastal environment. It was named the 2023 National Gold Medal Award winner for excellence in Parks and Recreation Management by the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration, in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association. Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation is accredited by CAPRA, the certifying agency of the National Recreation and Park Association. The department impacts the quality of life for the community by improving the physical and mental well-being of Virginia Beach residents. It is the largest childcare provider in the city, operating before and after-school programs, early childhood programs, and day camps when school is out of session.
