About
Augusta United Soccer Club offers World Cup Camp and Summer Day Camps that include World Cup-style matches, small-sided games, daily trivia, fun contests, and a Friday night pizza party. At World Cup Camp, players are placed onto World Cup teams, train on a topic of the day, and compete each evening in World Cup-style matches, and the camp includes a soccer ball, a World Cup Camp t-shirt, World Cup tournament competition, and the Friday night pizza party. Summer Day Camps are led by Augusta United coaching staff and use small-sided games and competition in a positive, energetic environment where players build confidence, improve technically, and enjoy the game.
• Ages: 6–18 years old
• Schedule: World Cup Camp runs July 13–17, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, and 2026–2027 Player Placement Tryouts are scheduled on select dates in April and May for U11–U19 boys and girls.
• Price: $95 per player (World Cup Camp).
World Cup Camp is designed for players of all skill levels, has been opened to rising U14 players, and is led by senior Augusta United staff members. Eligible age groups for the 2026–2027 season range from U11–U19, with a U10 Challenge program available for younger players. All tryouts for the 2026–2027 Player Placement schedule are held at Ridgeview Park, with separate time blocks for U11–U12 boys, U13–U14 boys, U11–U12 girls, U13–U14 girls, U15–U19 girls, and U15–U19 boys.
Augusta United Soccer Club traces its origins to the merger of Blue Ridge Soccer Association in Waynesboro, the Staunton Steam, and Woodrow Wilson Soccer Club in Fishersville, which created the area’s first county wide soccer program for Waynesboro, Staunton, and Augusta named Augusta FC. In 2015, Augusta FC merged with the Soccer Organization of the Charlottesville Area and operated as SOCA Augusta for several years, and Augusta United’s “Three As One” motto reflects the unity of Augusta County, Staunton, and Waynesboro. Augusta United enjoys a shared curriculum, supportive staffing, greater economies of scale, and relies on proven youth soccer development methods through its partnerships, and remains affiliated with sister clubs SOCA and Skyline Elite SC as part of a regional network.
The Augusta United leadership team includes Augusta Director of Coaching Jeff Darling, Program Director Alyson Pieno, Assistant Technical Director and Augusta Admin Luke Vesely, Technical Director for Virginia Soccer Alliance Jimmy Tharpe, and Academy Director Kyle Congleton. Augusta United Soccer Club and SOCA are non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations that do not receive government funding and rely on business sponsorships, individual donations, and player registrations. The club’s mission states that Augusta United seeks to unite Augusta County, Staunton, and Waynesboro around soccer, offers programs for all ages and abilities, welcomes all interested youth and adult participants, and is dedicated through its Staff and Board of Directors to the positive experience of its members.
