About
Montshire Programming takes place within a museum setting that includes over 150 hands-on science exhibits, both indoors and outdoors. Participants engage with exhibits on nature, technology, astronomy, and the physical sciences, and can explore miles of nature trails and water exhibits at Science Park during the warmer months.
The Montshire Museum of Science was founded in 1974 and first opened to the public in 1976 in a former bowling alley in Hanover, New Hampshire, later opening its museum building and 110-acre learning landscape in Norwich, Vermont in 1989. The museum is a nationally recognized, hands-on museum and is described as one of the busiest museums in northern New England. Its mission is to forge and empower a community of lifelong learners through engagement with science. The museum welcomes 155,000 visitors annually and reaches 12,000 students in regional schools, and its programming fosters interactive discovery for people of all ages in a riverfront setting focused on the physical and natural world. The Montshire Museum of Science recognizes the importance of building a community starting with its youngest visitors and their families, and offers the Montshire Playgroup as an opportunity for young families to have fun and make connections. The leadership team includes Katie Dembinski, Administrative Coordinator; Lara Litchfield-Kimber, Executive Director; Erin Peirce, Finance and Grant Assistant; Kim Milliman, Director of Strategic Partnerships; Hunter Sakowsky, Visitor Service Associate and Event Assistant; Carol Harry, Museum Store Manager; Honor Hingston-Cox, Public and Media Relations Manager; Courtney Adams, Director of Donor and Member Relations; Adam Blankenbicker, Director of Education; Matthew DiClemente, Director of Exhibits; and Gary Collins, Director of Facilities and Security.
