Artistree Youth Theatre Programs are part of Artistree Community Arts Center’s offerings in theatre and related arts. Artistree Youth Theatre Programs are connected to Artistree Community Arts Center, a nonprofit committed to making creative expression accessible to the Upper Valley. The center’s mission includes encouraging community members of all ages and abilities to take part in a wide variety of art processes in visual arts, movement, theatre, and music through year-round classes, workshops, performances, gallery exhibits, and events. Artistree Community Arts Center states that its offerings are designed to nurture each person’s inherent creative capacities and to raise the possibility of art as a vital force in an individual’s overall growth and expressive abilities. The organization celebrates and welcomes persons of all race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, physical, emotional and mental abilities, and status as a veteran, and it is committed to providing an equitable and accessible environment to staff, volunteers, participants, performers, and visitors, regardless of financial circumstances or socioeconomic status. Artistree Community Arts Center also presents a free summer concert series every Wednesday at 6:30pm and hosts A Midsummer Night's Gala at the Quechee Club as part of its broader arts activities.
Daniel L. Patterson is associated with the theatre programming as a Professor Emeritus of the Department of Theatre and Dance at Keene State College in New Hampshire, where he taught and directed for forty years. He received his MFA degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1975, where he studied directing under Dr. Francis Hodge. Dan was twice awarded the Kennedy Center Medallion for his work with the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.
