All of Challenger’s camps are staffed by a team of international coaches who are selected and trained specifically to give each child the best possible camp experience. The coaching staff is described as committed coaches and experienced educators on the game, and the program incorporates the best coaching methodologies from around the world. Challenger Sports has positively impacted more than one million children globally since 1985 and continues to run programs all over North America for players of all ages and ability level. The mission of the organization is stated as “Our mission remains to ignite the passion,” and the program is described as more than just a soccer camp, but also a cultural, educational, and informational program that uses soccer to teach responsibility, respect, sportsmanship, kindness, and perseverance — The Challenger Way. The organization originated as a British-led soccer camp business in North America and offers nationwide camp options with an emphasis on affordability.

The current leadership team includes Daniel Miller, Grant Hall, Ben Beer, Lauren Wymore, Alex Green, Linda Shoare, Anthony Riley, and Rob Herringer. The history of the organization dates back to 1985, when Ron Matsch started All American Indoor Sports in Lenexa, KS and began running summer soccer camps staffed primarily by British coaches.

Families are advised that if a camp package included a ball, it will be given out at the first session and should be brought each day along with plenty of water. If a program did not include a ball or if families are unsure, they are instructed to bring a ball on the first day. The program recommends applying sunblock before camp and having some available to reapply for longer days. Shin guards are required for all children attending camp for at least 3 hours or who are 6 years of age or older. For outdoor camps, children may wear cleats if they have them, but cleats are not mandatory, and athletic clothing and shoes are recommended.
