• Ages: 4–16 years old
North Lake Little League is a non-profit organization serving over 600 children who reside in the Kenmore, Bothell, and Brier area or attend schools within its league boundaries. The league’s mission is to provide a positive baseball and softball experience for players, families, coaches, and the community, and it endorses the goals and values of Little League. The program encourages participation by any child who wants to understand and play baseball and softball, and it fosters a culture where life’s lessons realized through these sports are valued over winning and where players are encouraged to remember great friendships before great plays.
The league’s stated objectives include acquiring an appreciation for an active lifestyle, developing a positive self-concept by mastering baseball or softball skills, learning to work as part of a team, developing social skills with other children and adults, learning about managing success and disappointment, learning good sportsmanship in baseball or softball and in life, and learning respect for others. North Lake Little League is chartered by Little League International and is a member of Washington’s District 8.
The leadership team includes Jason Phelps (President), Barry Vallier (Teen Baseball Coordinator), Harvey Bendaña (VP Softball), Matt Moury (VP Baseball), Mark Madigan (Umpire in Chief), Maria Cone (Treasurer), and Verenice Bendaña (Secretary). Additional roles include schedulers, player agents, registrars, equipment coordinators for baseball and softball, technology and communications, sponsorship and fundraising, fields, events, coaches coordinators, safety officer, community liaison, and an All-Star Coordinator.
