About
Seattle's Performers offers musicals for youth, theatre classes, dance classes, after-school programs, and full productions. The program also offers a Harry Potter Thanksgiving Break Camp, a Musical in A Day option, an Auditioning for Film class, a travel troupe called SP ELITE, SP ELITE PREP programs for younger and older students, and private voice lessons. Frog & Toad KIDS Parents' Night Out classes rehearse on Friday evenings from 5–8pm, and the other Frog & Toad KIDS cast rehearses on Saturdays from 9–12pm.
• Ages: 8–17 years old
• Schedule: Options include Friday evening and Saturday morning rehearsals for specific productions
In 2010 Seattle’s Littlest Performers was established, and in 2013 it became Seattle’s Performers. Over the last 13 years, Seattle's Performers has produced over 25 productions. The program produces 5–6 musicals for youth throughout the year and offers three single day masterclass camp options during winter break. SP ELITE is a travel troupe with multiple travel teams, and SP ELITE PREP is typically by invitation only and gives students the experience of SP ELITE without traveling. Seattle's Performers is described as an award winning theatre program.
The leadership team includes Founding Artistic Director Sandy Sonko; Dance Instructor/ELITE leader Annie Cassidy; Private Voice Lessons ELITE/Productions instructor Carly Corey; Camps/Productions/After-School leader Caleb Ryden; and Productions/After School/ELITE/ELITE PREP leader Fiona Palazzi. Sandy studied Music and Theatre at the University of the Ozarks and holds a degree in Early Childhood Education from North Idaho College and in Child Development Psychology/Music from the University of Idaho. Annie received her B.A. in Musical Theatre and a minor in Dance from the University of Washington and is a certified member of the Youth Protection Advocates in Dance. Carly studied Vocal Performance and Music Theory at Cornish College of the Arts and is a member of Actors Equity. Caleb has over 10 years of experience working with youth ages 3–24 in preschool teaching, nannying, tutoring, case management for homeless youth, and educational theatre. Annie toured throughout Europe and Asia with The Young Americans, an international outreach program that brings music and dance to students of under-funded schools, and Caleb volunteers at Ballyhoo Theatre on the Youth Advisory Board.
SP ELITE has competed at MTCA, JTF WEST, JTF TEXAS (virtually in 2021), JTF ATLANTA, and JTF Europe in 2024. SP ELITE has been awarded Excellence in Acting in 2019 and 2020, Excellence in Dance in 2022, and Excellence in Ensemble in 2024 at JTF Europe. In 2021 SP ELITE was awarded an Outstanding Overall Production honor, and in 2025 at MTCA SP ELITE received an Ovation Award for Excellence in Ensemble work. In 2000, Sandy was recognized for her volunteer service as the Prudential Spirit of Community Award recipient at the White House in Washington, D.C. Sandy’s stated goal for the future of the program is to keep providing as many opportunities as possible for performers.
One testimonial about a production of Legally Blonde notes that the group had strong characterizations and energy, set a tone that captured the spirit of the show, and that the theatre program allows students to bring their own take on roles while giving them tools to be confident artists.
